The Ruby Vest by Sydney Graham Patterns is the ultimate layering piece and is completely reversible. Multiple customization options allow you to truly make the vest of your dreams. The Ruby Vests can be made from quilted materials and we can supply instructions to pre-quilt your fabric.
This sewing pattern is designed for adventurous beginner garment sewists and has beginner friendly sewing instructions, illustrations, and an accompanying video tutorial to make the construction easy to follow.
Recommended Fabrics:
For this pattern, you can use anything from quilting cotton to flannel, sherpa, pre-quilted fabric, and more. Our favorites are generally cottons or linens, between 3-7 oz per square yard. We strongly discourage making your bias binding from fabrics on the heavier side of that range, as it can make the construction quite tricky. When it comes to Bias tape, STORE BOUGHT IS FINE ;)
Knit fabrics with a lot of stretch are not recommended.
Fabric Requirments:
1-2m of 56" wide fabric, depending on the style, length, and size chosen. Please purchase in advance and bring pre-washed. Email us if you have any questions!
