Technique: Mitered Corners
A Skill Building Workshop with Liz Simpson
Date: Thursday December 4th
TIME: 6-9pm
A sewn mitered corner is created through a series of clever folds and diagonal seaming. The end result is a tidy hemmed corner, free from bulk and unsightly backstitching. This technique can be applied to any 90-degree corner that requires hemming, such as napkins, table runners, drapery, and split hems on clothing.
During our three-hour workshop, participants will make a set of 4 napkins, just in time for the holidays!
Supplies
- 1.1m of quilting weight cotton, or a similar weight non-stretch woven fabric, such as linen or a cotton linen blend. We recommend to pre-wash and dry your fabric before class to minimize shrinkage post sewing.
