The Pine Raglan by Paradise Patterns
Beginner Knit Pattern with Liz Simpson
DATES: Thursdays January 15th & 22nd
Time: (6-9pm x two days, 6 hours)
The Pine Raglan Sweatshirt is a classic sweatshirt with a comfortable, oversized fit. The neckband is slightly chunkier than a standard crewneck, giving the sweatshirt a vintage and unisex feel. View B has a cropped hem, giving the sweatshirt a more feminine feel. You can choose to make the whole sweatshirt in one fabric or use a rib knit for the neckband, waistband, and cuffs.
You will learn:
- How to sew with knits.
- How to install neckbands and cuffs.
FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS
The pattern is best suited for sweatshirt knits such as French terry and fleece, but you may also use a waffle knit or heavy weight jersey. If you choose to use the same fabric for the main body and the edges, the fabric needs to have at least 50% crossgrain stretch and 3% elastane (or more). If you’re using a rib knit in the neckband, waistband, and cuffs, the main fabric doesn’t need stretch. The rib knit should have at least 3% spandex. Page 7 gives you the fabric requirement for both options.
VIEW A
- Crewneck
- Slightly oversized
- Optional ribbing for neckband, waistband, and cuffs.
- Hip length
VIEW B
- Same as View A, but cropped to high hip.
SIZING: A-P (Bust 28”-58”)
