UPCYCLED QUILT COAT

TIME: 6pm - 8:30pm (4 sessions x 2.5hrs = 10 hours)
Breathe new life into worn quilts and thrifted blankets by making SWS's Rue Quilt Coat in our Upcycled Quilt Coat workshop! The Rue Coat has an intentionally relaxed/oversized fit and features a retro-inspired collar, dramatic split side hems, bias tape finished seams, patch pockets, long sleeves for cuffing. In this workshop, students will learn how to sew and finish bulky seams, mending techniques, and how to install snap, buttons or tie closures!
Note: this workshop does not include time for assembling patchwork and/or quilting. Students must bring WASHED pre-quilted fabric, vintage quilts or blankets, ready to be cut on session 1.
You will receive a physical and digital copy of this pattern and digital instructions will be emailed ahead of time.
Supplies required are dependent on size and desired finish: Ideally 1 large blanket or quilt, based on size.
Experience Level: Advanced beginner garment. Students are required to independently thread their machines and sew consistent seam allowances.
