Design and Sew your perfect Fall Jacket. Whether that is a structured chore coat with pockets and snaps, or a button up blanket coat made from an up-cycled quilt, we have two stellar patterns to help you make it exactly how you want.
The Ilford Jacket is a versatile style that’s modular design makes for a pattern that is simple, yet impactful. It features drop shoulders and comes with two sleeve options: a placketed sleeve with cuff, and an easy to sew boxy sleeve for a more relaxed vibe. It also includes two lengths as well as a bunch of pocket templates that you can mix and match. The possibilities are endless! You can wear the Ilford as a jacket or shirt depending on the fabric you use. This is a fun, skill building pattern that you will want to make/wear again and again! This pattern is for everyone and looks great on all gender expressions!
Rue Quilt Coat The Rue Quilt Coat is inspired by nonnas, vintage house coats, workwear, mischief, and mornings you can’t be bothered to get out of bed so you take the bed with you. The pattern comes in an adult and kids size range and features a retro-inspired collar, dramatic split side hems, bias tape finished seams, patch pockets, long sleeves for cuffing, and an interior strap for wearing the coat off the body when too hot (adult version only). It has an intentionally relaxed/oversized fit.
Advanced beginner garment class. Students are required to independently operate their machines and have sewn other beginner garments.
Supplies required are dependent on size and desired finish. Participants will be contacted with specific, detailed supply list for their projects. Ideally 1 large blanket or quilt for the Rue Coat and 3m of denim/twill, or heavy linen or cotton for the Ilford Jacket.
