Cosplay & Costuming
With Michael Glidewell
DATES: Every other Saturday! July 4th, 18th, August 1st, 15th, 29th
TIME: 5:30pm - 8:30pm
Bring your favourite characters to life while developing practical sewing and costume making skills. Join us bi-weekly this summer to work on your own costume projects, with guided help from our instructor Michael Glidewell, who has years of experience in custom, creative costuming for cosplay and drag.
Participants will learn how to adapt commercial patterns (such as the ones in the sample photos) to create unique character-inspired looks to create the costume they have envisioned, how to select the best fabrics for their project, and tips on using creative construction methods and finishing techniques.
Students will also be able to learn more about costume design concepts, fabric modification, embellishment, armour and accessory integration.
Whether you already have a pattern and are looking for help with construction and picking fabrics, or if you have a vision and need direction on exactly HOW to bring it to life, we are here to help you with all your cosplay and costuming needs!
This is a recurring event, so you can come to one or all of the sessions to continue working on projects. Machines and tools supplied, fabrics not included.
