Learn Pattern Drafting Basics
The Hutchison Camisole
DATE: Saturday September 28th
TIME : 3pm - 7pm
LOCATION: Empire Make Space 168 1/2 Ottawa St. N
Learn to draft a simple camisole based on your own body measurements.
In this class we will learn how to take your physical body measurements and translate those into a 3 dimensional pattern for a simple woven camisole that you can reuse over and over again.
We will learn to draft and then sew bust darts, use a combination of facing and serger to finish the edges, and techniques for turning straps.
In this 4 hour workshop you will use a sewing machine, and serger if you feel comfortable (don't worry, we'll thread it for you!), scissors, and tools are provided, and you will need to bring 1m of your choice of light to mid-weight woven fabric with a minimal to moderate amount of drape (not too slinky).
Fabrics are available for purchase at the studio, but for best results you will want to wash them at home before class.
Join us in a small group setting led by local designer Sophia Del Giacco, of small batch linen clothing brand Hutchison.
